Calypso project was divided into two subprojects in a project management group meeting on 25.5.1999. This was done in order to clarify the division of the work. Calypso SP concentrates on providing end user services, which bring extra value to services on top of internet networks. Calypso IP concentrates on researching IP routing technologies and developing router protocol. These projects are managed by Helsinki University of Technology (HUT), although research work of Calypso IP is done by research assistants at Kareltek technology centre in Lappeenranta. Professor Hannu Kari manages the projects at Helsinki University of Technology, and research assistant Toni Suihko works as the project manager of Calypso IP at Kareltek. HUT's projects in Lappeenranta have a many-shared aspect, and due to this different projects can co-operate very closely. In practice, this has been seen in shared material and researcher loans. |
